The Imilab Eye Caring Lamp was born out of a need to ensure children's safety at home during the epidemic. With many children staying home alone while their parents are at work, the lamp serves as a remote companion, safeguarding their growth. The lamp's design is minimalistic and geometric, embodying the principles of sustainable development. The counterweight block is die-cast using recycled metal, reducing unnecessary power loss and promoting energy efficiency.
What sets the Imilab Eye Caring Lamp apart from other designs is its unique properties. As an IoT device, it enhances home safety and convenience. The side-emitting light mode effectively prevents direct glare, while the built-in scene simulation function can set reminders for the beginning or end of courses on the App. The lamp also features a camera with a built-in microphone, allowing for long-distance communication between children and parents. The physical shielding function ensures user privacy and safety.
The lamp's production process is as innovative as its design. The shell, made of metal and plastic materials, is smooth, burr-free, and aesthetically pleasing. The lamp uses industrial aluminum extrusion and compression molding, with a zero draft angle process to reduce raw material waste. The lamp's weight is 2030g, and its dimensions are 513mm× 150mm× 463.5mm. The color temperature of the lamp is 4000K, ensuring a warm and comfortable light.
The Imilab Eye Caring Lamp is a smart desk lamp that can automatically adjust the brightness according to the environment. It can be controlled by voice or APP through the built-in WIFI module. The lamp does not produce blue-ray and visible flicker, and the panel's bumps and holes effectively prevent dazzling light. The excellent color rendering and intelligent brightness adjustment make the light softer, protecting people's eyes and reducing the myopia rate as much as possible. The three-axis design also saves a lot of desktop space.
The project, which started in January 2020 and concluded in August 2020 in China, faced several challenges. The designers had to find a way to use cameras to protect children's safety at home while reducing the sense of surveillance brought by cameras. Through conversations with users and prototype testing, they designed the physical shielding function of the camera to protect users' privacy. The lamp's design and structure were improved based on the tests.
In recognition of its innovative design and functionality, the Imilab Eye Caring Lamp was awarded Silver in A' Lighting Products and Fixtures Design Award in 2021. This prestigious award is given to top-of-the-line, creative, and professionally remarkable designs that illustrate outstanding expertise and innovation. The Imilab Eye Caring Lamp is truly a beacon of innovation in smart home devices, demonstrating how design can enhance our lifestyle and contribute to sustainability.
